Supernova 02:50
Just stay, ‘cause the feeling’s supernatural in its own way And the day-dreams that I’m living in won’t fade, fade, fade, fade, away Just stand there, and show me you’re a man who keeps his word I’m giving you ‘till morning to deserve me me me me An ocean, a supernova in your glance, so cold I’m warming up my only friend, the clocks turn It’s burning up my old reserve and I know, the water of your love will bring me home Water of your love will bring me home Water of your love will bring me home My body turns to dust, the river takes me under, the love it turns to rust, and now I see you lover
2.
No don’t go, stay with me, and the cold dark night will warm If you come, into my bedroom, with the curtains drawn and the lights turned down, you will see my soul and I’ll drown in yours Wait and see, what the morning brings, for your aching heart And when you’re feeling down come around In my room, you can be James Dean or an astronaut, for a day Make, make believe, suede and leather dreams, wrapped in linen forts, made from kitchen chairs, and we’ll drink what’s near, and I’ll whisper in your ear; ‘you’re safe’ And when you’re feeling down come around
3.
Shine 02:31
Well I know that you know that I know the secrets of our love, but you play it brave, you’re afraid, that I’ll seek beyond these walls But one day you will see that you’re the sunlight to my tree and you are loved, and when the foliage has died you’ll be the one who brings me life and loves me Well I know that you’re cold, you’ve been waiting for my call, well I’m home and I’ll stoke the fire, put your arms around me And when the morning comes you’ll be the one I’m thinking of and you are loved, and in the arms of my embrace the sun it lingers on your face and you shine And when you shine, when you shine, you come to life
4.
Lydia 02:43
Whisper while you work, a soft murmur, twenty four years you walked the earth, you never loved you’ve never learned But I know, you entertain the notion, of skinny dipping in the ocean, of liquor filling up your weekend, and your mind going off the deep-end Lydia, won’t you come with us, get in to the car, shake the feeling off Roll the window down, and scream your name out loud, forget the past your ours Tell me if you want to leave, just tell me to get the keys I’ve got a suspicion you’re on a crash collision - don’t go ‘Cause we’re the new romantics, our minds are made of plastic, but our hearts they’re all elastic Lydia, won’t you come with us, get in to the car, shake the feeling off Roll the window down, and scream your name out loud, forget the past your ours Take my hand and don’t look down, we can travel sight and sound, Always thinking, never drinking, chase the dark and light it up tonight Lydia, won’t you come with us, get in to the car, shake the feeling off Roll the window down, and scream your name out loud, forget the past your ours Your ours

Battlecry 03:36
There’s a time in your life, when you’re not who you were when you were seventeen The pictures remain, but the memories fade from when you were seventeen There was a light in your eyes now it’s gone it’s died, you don’t know what that means When you were seventeen, you ruled the world (Rule the world again) Rage the night, fight or flight and rule the world I’ll sound your battle-cry, I’ll fight your war, all that I need is a moment that’s worth fighting for Take to the skies and I’ll watch you soar, when I sound the battle-cry, do what you came here for (Rule the world again) They say there’s a price and you’ll pay it as a sacrifice So you strap on your wings, say goodbye to your friends and take to the sky Take flight, rip off your disguise and be seventeen and rule the world I’ll sound your battle-cry, I’ll fight your war, all that I need is a moment that’s worth fighting for Take to the skies and I’ll watch you soar, when I sound the battle-cry, do what you came here for I’ll be your warrior, I’ll take your side, I’ll shine a light, you’ll never need to run and hide Give me your hand I’ll give you my strength, just take the lead, and rule the world And the love you feel is right, in darkness you found light and life

about

Described as a nostalgic dreamland, Brontide explores a visceral narrative of loss, touching on wasted youth and fear of a life lived unfulfilled.

The groups first professional effort was recorded and produced in Australia’s Gold Coast at Loose Stones Studio – a modest outfit bearing hefty credentials, with artists such as Matt Corby, Broods, Dead Letter Circus, Guards of May and Jarryd James having graced its halls.

Internationally credited producer and studio head, Matt Bartlem, mixed the record. His credits include working with leading artists such as Angus & Julia Stone, Jarryd James, Dead Letter Circus, The Getaway Plan, Matt Corby and more. Matt and his studio are gaining a reputation as one of the best Pop/Rock producers in Australia.

The EP was mastered at Sterling Sound in New York by Grammy award-winning mastering engineer Greg Calbi who has worked with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Tame Impala, Band of Horses, Bon Iver, The National and many more.

The EP’s soundscape is a bringing together of the 5 piece’s acoustic dog-days and their developing preoccupation with synthesized and electronic elements. Cinematic percussion alongside the relentless drive of acoustic guitars give Brontide movement and life allowing dual female and male vocals to take centre stage.

Brontide means 'the distant rumbling of thunder'. The name came about soon after the group finished work on what is now the opening track on the EP 'Supernova'. The track had a darkness and maturity to it that was new to their sound and felt ‘like a coming storm’ – and so Brontide was born.
